Homeowner Information & Forms

CRM currently serves North Carolina's eastern Counties of Washington, Chowan, and Bertie.  We focus on safety-related repairs and accessibility upgrades. 

Typical work can include: 

  • Wall & Ceiling Sheetrock 

  • Floors/Subfloors

  • Re-roofing

  • Wheelchair Ramp

  • Plumbing & Electrical

  • Window/Door 

  • Weatherization

Application Process:

​1. Call or visit CRM to discuss if you qualify.

2. Complete the application

3. Hand-deliver/Mail-In application with required forms

to CRM at their Bertie Office in Windsor.

Application Papers 

CRM HAS 4 BASIC REQUIREMENTS

1. Applicant must own and occupy 

    the home in need of repairs.

2. Home must be located in our

    service area.

3. Total household income must fall

    at or below 50% of that County's 

    median income. Once an

    application is submitted, CRM

    staff will do this research for you.

4. Requested repairs must address

    health, safety, or access.

Please note that meeting these basic requirements does not guarantee the request will be granted.

Our personnel will determine if the rebuild falls within the scope of CRM’s mission and capabilities.

Due to limited resources, we cannot help everyone who is eligible.

Once the homeowner and rebuild are approved, the rebuild will be scheduled based on priority and availability of resources. Almost all work will be completed by volunteers from our community and beyond. Licensed professionals will be contracted according to building codes.
